SkillSniper is pioneering new technologies in the employment industry. We are powered by a 100% skill-based platform. We go past the resume level and down to the actual job skill and experience level, providing the best advantage to skilled job seekers. We also invented the concept of skill-based job postings. These one-of-a-kind job postings filter out unqualified candidates for employers. This lets the skilled and experienced job seekers stand out. Our completely skill-based platform allows us to offer solutions that others can't.
Traditional job sites are driven by Boolean keyword text searches, which is very old and ineffective technology. For example, if you are a nurse and an Employer searches the word "nurse", then every job seeker's resume that mentions the word "nurse" will come back in the results. Even the inexperienced job seeker who said "I hope to become a nurse" in their resume! Then guess what happens? A hiring manager gets to sift through hundreds of unqualified resumes and the experienced job seekers often get overlooked.
We offer the most targeted detailed searches on the planet and we let Employers and Recruiters look for their perfect Candidates - without having to pay to look! If you were in their shoes, wouldn't you start the lengthy and costly job search process by looking at SkillSniper first? Truly, nothing to lose and everything to gain.
For these reasons, all job seekers and consultants can immediately increase their odds of getting a job by creating a free skill profile on SkillSniper.com.
A skill-based job posting is the solution to problems associated with traditional job postings. Employers no longer have to spend days or weeks sifting through unqualified candidates. A skill-based job posting will automatically identify the most qualified job seekers for an employer. This gives experienced job seekers a huge advantage over less qualified job seekers.

An Employee is a person who works for a business and typically gets paid wages and receives a W-2 at tax time. This also includes Consultants that work for a consulting firm and receive a W-2 at tax time. Additionally, if you receive any type of benefits like health insurance, paid vacation, sick days or a 401k, then you are most likely an Employee. This is the most common classification so if you are unsure then choose 'Employee'.
A Consultant is an Independent Consultant, Freelancer or Contractor. This classification refers to a person who usually gets paid by the hour or job and receives a 1099 at tax time. They are usually out on their own and don't receive benefits from a business.

On the SkillSniper home page, click Sign In and then click the 'Forgot Password' link. A separate box will pop up where you need to enter in your email address and click the 'Recover Password' button. An email will be sent to your email address with a link. Click the link you receive and you will be able to change your password.
Not receiving emails from SkillSniper? Add 'noreply@skillsniper.com' to your safe sender list in your browser.

Make sure you navigate to the correct month and year that you are trying to find. Then, click your mouse pointer on a specific date in the calendar and that date will be entered in the field you are on.
To inactivate your account, simply remove your Availability Date from your dashboard. Your account status will be 'Invisible'. You will not show up in business searches. Anytime in the future when you are looking for another job, you can simply add an Availability Date and you will be 'Visible' again to employers.
To remove your Availability Date, click inside the Availability Date box on your dashboard and then click the 'Clear' button and your Availability Date will be removed.
If you wish to completely remove your account from SkillSniper then just send an email to support@skillsniper.com and put 'remove account' in the subject line. This email must be sent from the email address used to originally create the account. If you are looking for work in the future, then you will have to create a new account and re-enter all of your information. Therefore, we recommend just removing your Availability Date to inactivate your account.

FAQ's - Job Seekers and Consultants
First, it is free for job seekers and consultants to create accounts.
Second, we take you down to an unprecedented level of detail and let you show off what you actually do - your true skills. It is your skills that Employers need. We maintain skills, certifications, state issued licenses, and specific software titles in our database. - we not only let you add your skills, but we let you specify your experience with each skill. You now have the chance to really stand out from other candidates.
Third, we keep you informed as much as possible. You specify your email preferences and we will notify you everytime an employer views and/or purchases your contact information. Additionally, we let you know which skills were searched and found, if applicable. The SkillSniper Job Referral Network allows you to set up your preferences and then get a daily email with a list of job postings.
Experienced Job Seekers and Consultants will benefit the most. Employers are having trouble finding skilled job seekers. Our site helps them quickly navigate through the less experienced candidates and find the best ones.
You can maximize your benefit by completing your profile and keeping your 'Available to Work' date updated as least once a month. Additionally, you can apply to job postings, but employers also search our database. Make sure you add any skills and certifications that you have to your profile. This will increase your odds of an employer finding your profile in the database.
Creating a skill-based Profile on SkillSniper costs you absolutely nothing. Honestly, we think it is kind of odd that a Job Seeker would be asked to pay for a job service, especially when you aren't guaranteed a job. Odds are that you will end up paying for a service just to find out that a lot of people just want your resume for their files or database.
More time and effort spent building your Profile will increase the benefits that you will receive by using SkillSniper. Businesses are looking for Employees who are skilled and show a serious effort looking for jobs. For the best results, keep your 'Available to Work' date updated every one or two weeks maximum. It just takes around 30 seconds to login and do this.
Employers can search for you as long as your Account Status on your dashboard page is VISIBLE.
To get a VISIBLE status, you do NOT have to show 100% completion. Some job seekers don't have certifications or security clearances.
To be VISIBLE where employers can search for you, do the following on your dashboard:
- Validate your email address through a link we sent you. There will be a resend link if it is not validated yet.
- Enter in your "Date of Availability".
- Make sure all items in the 'Required' column are completed.
It is simple to get notification emails when your Profile is either opened and viewed or when it is purchased by an employer. Go to the 'Update Personal Preferences' link on your dashboard and you can set up your email preferences and the frequency of these emails. If you are getting lots of views, you may wish to change your frequency to limit the number of emails you receive. We will let you know the city, state and industry of the Business, but not the Employer's name.
If an employer purchases your contact information then we will let you know the name of the business, which can be found online under the 'Who Purchased My Profile' VIEW link on your dashboard. However, they will contact you if they wish to set up an interview. An employer might purchase several contacts and then decide only to interview a couple of them or they may decide to wait to interview Candidates. Therefore, leave the initial contact up to the Business.
We provide job seekers with some valuable information. When a business views or purchases your contact information, we will provide you with a list of the actual skills that were searched. This is an invaluable tool for you as a job seeker. You will be able to track which of your skills are more in demand by the number of views on each of your skills. If no skills are shown then the employer probably searched and found you based on other criteria in your profile.
This really depends on several factors. How much demand is there for your skills? Do you keep your skills and experience updated? How many jobs are available in the economy for your skills? Do you keep your 'Available to Work' date updated so employers know you are serious about finding a job?
We try our best to help you out. We offer Businesses and Recruiters the ability to come to SkillSniper and do unprecedented detailed, targeted skill-based searches for free. This gets the Businesses coming to SkillSniper first before starting their lengthy and costly normal search process.
Simply put, job seekers who put a good effort into creating their Profile will have better odds of being found by employers.
There is no set time. We wish we could tell you that it would be immediately - and it sure could be. We allow employers to set up free Auto Searches. What this means is that once you create your and set up your Profile, it is possible that you might get matched immediately to the requirements of an employer.
It is optional, however, to increase your odds of being selected, it is highly recommended that you include your preferred range. When employers search for job seekers, they will typically have some kind of pay range in mind. Therefore, they may pass you up for other job seekers that have specified a range.
You can always negotiate within your range once an employer contacts you. Understand that many employers want to make sure that you are within their range before committing any time to calling you. You can modify your salary or hourly range at any time. If you are an hourly employee then you can also include a preferred salary range if you choose.
Leaving out your preferred pay ranges could leave you out of search results. If an employer searches for a specific range and you did not include your information then your profile will not appear in the results. That is why we strongly recommend putting in your preferred range.
Don't get discouraged. We have thousands of Businesses and Recruiters searching for Candidates all the time so today could be your day. There are several things you can do to help your chances of being selected by a Business.
First, and most important, make sure you are updating your 'Available to Work' date at least every two to four weeks. It only takes about 30 seconds to log in and update it.
You can also set up your Profile to have us send you reminder emails to update your 'Available to Work' date. There is no charge for these reminders. Employers know that only serious job seekers will keep their 'Available to Work' date up to date. Which Candidate would you pick? One who said they were available one week ago or one who said they were available four months ago?
Second, make sure you review your Profile and add any new skills you have acquired. The more complete you are, the better. If an employer is searching for a job seeker within a certain pay range and you left yours blank, then you will not be discovered.
Third, check your pay rates that you have specified and make sure they are reasonable for your skills.
Lastly, we offer an optional service to Upgrade your account to a Featured status, which will bring more attention to your profile.
This is an optional service for job seekers that we offer.
When an employer searches for job seekers, they start out with a broad search and narrow it as they go. If you have skills that are in demand and you are getting returned in the search results with group of other Candidates, then a Featured Account might be what you need. An account upgrade to Featured status is for a period of time and your Profile will be placed on the top of the search results and specially designated as 'Featured'.
Again, this is an optional service and is not for everyone. We set it in increments of 30 days so that it is affordable for those of you who wish to try it out and increase your odds of being found on SkillSniper. Remember that a Featured Account will not help you if your Profile is incomplete and you don't keep your Available to Work date updated consistently. We can't guarantee you a job with a Featured Account, but we can guarantee you that your chances of being seen will go way up.
If you have strong, high-demand skills, then you may be needed for Independent Consulting/Freelance work. When you select your New Job Preferences, make sure you check the box that says you are 'Open to Consulting Opportunities'. This will inform employersthat you not only have the great skills, but would be interested in doing Independent Consulting/Freelance work if the right opportunity came available. You can always update your choice from a link on the New Job Preferences page.
Your identifiable contact information is NOT viewable by employers as they run searches. Your identifiable information includes your name, email address, address, phone numbers and names of companies where you have worked. An employer will only be able to get your identifiable contact information if they choose to purchase it using a Search Credit. This helps you know that when you do get contacted from an employer using SkillSniper that they are serious about needing a job candidate.
You also have the option to turn on your Privacy feature, which will allow you to approve a Business before they can purchase and see your identifiable contact information. Your identifiable contact information is only used by a Business to contact you if they wish to pursue you for a particular job opportunity.
Turning on your privacy feature can be good for employees that are currently working at a company and don't want their employer to know they are looking for other opportunities. However, it adds an extra step for employers so make sure that you really need this feature turned on before doing it.
We realize that some Employees need to remain private while searching for jobs. Setting your Privacy ON will keep an employer from seeing your contact information until you approve it. They will be able to see the rest of your Profile, but they will not be able to see identifying information such as your name, email address, address, phone numbers and companies you have worked for.
The 'Update Personal Preferences' link on your dashboard will let you turn your Privacy ON or OFF. By default, all accounts are initially set up with Privacy OFF. Turning Privacy ON will allow you to approve any Profile purchase requests from Businesses. You will receive an email telling you the name of the Business that is trying to purchase your Profile. You can then decide if you want to let them see your contact details or not. However, you will only have a maximum of 72 hours to login to your SkillSniper account and approve the purchase if you are interested. After 72 hours, the purchase request will expire and you will have to go online and choose the option to resubmit your Profile to the Business. One thing to note - although you are allowed 72 hours, you will want to approve the request ASAP because the business might want to set up an interview with you immediately. You don't want to risk them finding other candidates by delaying your response.
We recognize the need for Businesses to fill some jobs quickly so we don't want to keep them from searching for other Candidates due to late responses. Your best chances of securing a job are to leave the Privacy OFF so Businesses can quickly purchase your Profile and call you for an interview. If you set your Privacy OFF then the Business automatically will get your contact information upon purchase and they will be able to call or email you immediately.

A Vanity URL is a link that we provide, which allows you to show off your skills, certifications and licenses. You took the time to create your skill Profile so we will let you display it elsewhere. Although we would hope that you get discovered by an employer on our website, we don't mind helping you out in your job search. If you use LinkedIn then you can use the Vanity URL link that we provide you to show your skills to anyone who looks at your LinkedIn Profile.
See the Vanity URL page (link on your dashboard) for more details on how to use it. We also have another FAQ that walks you through the steps of setting it up in LinkedIn. If you click on your link, you will see what will be displayed when someone clicks your link. There is no cost to use your Vanity URL. Basically, it is a link to a web page that displays your skills, certifications and licenses for others to see.
**The Vanity URL display will NOT work when you click it UNLESS you have finished your Profile setup and have validated your email address. The Account Status on the dashboard will help you with this.**
Note: We are not affiliated with LinkedIn. This is just a service we provide to you to enhance your job search experience.

No, it doesn't. You will need to negotiate this with a Business that contacts you. The reason is that expenses will vary depending on your location and the contract location. You will need to figure this out when it is requested from a Business.
Some helpful tips - the main expenses you will need to consider are:
- Airfare if you must fly to your destination
- Hotel accommodations if you are staying overnight
- Transportation - car rentals or driving your own personal vehicle
- Meals - either actual costs or per diem amounts

You would be classified as an Employee on SkillSniper. When you add your Job Experiences to your Profile, make sure you select the appropriate POSITION that most resembles what you do (i.e.. Credits can be purchased right in your employer dashboard page. Credits are the monetary system used on SkillSniper.com.
We offer large volume discounts. The more credits you buy, the cheaper it is per credit. In fact, you can get your cost per credit all the way down to $10.
You can also share credits with other recruiters in your company and take advantage of discount pricing. Createing one or more secondary accounts from your Employer dashboard will allow you to take advantage of this.
SkillSniper is designed to save you maximum amounts of time and money. Our goal is to promote extensive job growth with skilled candidates that match your needs. Our credits range anywhere from $10 - $30 each depending on the volume of the purchase. After you create an account then you can click on the "Purchase Credits" link to see the volume discounts that are available.
Credits are used for creating skill-based job postings and for purchasing identifiable information if you find one or more candidates while searching our database.
Comparatively speaking, we offer the best value proposition in the industry. Our skill-based job postings save you huge amounts of time by filtering out unqualified candidates based on your minimum skill and experience requirements. No other technology can currently do this. In addition, we offer industry leading pricing. Compared to time consuming traditional job posting that typically range from $300-$450 each, you can now get five (5) skill-based job postings for $500.
No, they will not. At this time, any credits you purchase will never expire. We realize hiring frequencies can vary over time. If you purchase them in bulk now, then they are yours to use anytime. Any credits you purchase now will be locked in at the price you pay for them, even if prices are raised in the future. That will hopefully encourage you to take advantage of our great volume discounts that we currently have available.
Non-expiring credits is just another concept we follow to set ourselves apart.

Yes, one person from your business will need to initially set up an Employer account. This user will be the Primary Account Manager. They can then add as many Secondary Accounts as needed. By clicking on the 'Manage Secondary Accounts' link from the dashboard page, the Primary Account Manager can add a Secondary Account for any user in the Business that will be sharing Search Credits. Secondary Accounts can be deleted at any time by the Primary Account Manager.
Please note that when a Primary Account Manager sets up a Secondary Account user, then that is authorizing them to use any credits that are in the account.
No, we recognize that some hiring personnel don't want to share their Search Credits. This can be due to departmental budgets or competing recruiters. Any user can set up their own Employer account as long as their Business email address has not been used on the site. If you have previously set them up as a Secondary Account, then you will need to delete them from the Manage Secondary Accounts page. Please note that users WILL NOT be able to share credits if they are not listed as a Secondary Account.
A Credit Card must be used to purchase credits. We accept all major credit cards and all transactions are processed through a secure third party gateway.
For your added protection, all order related pages are secured through a verifiable SSL certificate.
No, we do not. This typically leads to 'farming' practices, where an Employer or Recruiter needs to justify a large flat fee investment by contacting everyone possible, even if real jobs don't exist. This can lead job seekers, employers and recruiters to have a bad perception of a job site. Part of the SkillSniper philosophy is to quickly provide qualified candidates for you. We are trying to eliminate standard practices seen in the past and replace them with high quality search results to maximize your experience on SkillSniper.
We want all job seekers to be certain that actual jobs and contracts exist on SkillSniper. We are able to maintain a high level of integrity on our website by using credits for individual transactions. Our model is based on high volumes of transactions and creating jobs, and not impeding the hiring process with high costs.
Yes, in fact we welcome that. We give job seekers the ability to suggest skills and certifications when they are adding their skills to their profile. We then send all suggestions through a review process before they are made available for everyone to use.
Please use the Contact Us form to suggest other skills, certifications, industries, etc. We continue to grow and add new items all of the time.
Once you suggest skills and they are added to the system then you will be able to select them on your skill-based job postings or use them in your searches as additional criteria.
Absolutely. We have tailored our bulk packages to large Businesses and Recruiters in order to allow the purchase of credits for as low as $10 each. We also allow the most detailed searches on the planet to save you time cold calling/emailing unqualified Candidates. Let us help you save time by not having to sift through millions of resumes using keyword searches.
However, please note that we only allow postings for real jobs that currently exist. The integrity of job postings on our site is very important to us and we reserve the right to remove any user found to be practicing any type of 'farming' tactics. With your cooperation on this matter, we can help you find better qualified candidates faster than ever.
Yes, many Business users are also looking for different jobs. You will need to set up a new Candidate account. Email addresses can't be duplicated in the system, so you will have to use a personal email address when creating a personal account.
If a job seeker has their Privacy OFF then you will immediately be able to view their detailed contact information and a Search Credit will automatically be deducted from your account.
If a job seeker has their Privacy ON then they will receive an email to approve your permission request to view their Profile. They will only see your Company Name and not your personal name. If they respond within 72 hours then the transaction will be completed automatically and you will be able to view their contact information and any other details.
If a Candidate rejects your permission request, then you will not be able to view their contact information and your credit will be returned to your account.
Note: The privacy function is designed to protect certain employees that wish to remain anonymous during their job search.
We understand that some jobs and contracts need to be filled quickly and we don't think it is fair to automatically charge you a Search Credit if the Candidate does not respond timely within 72 hours.
If you have not heard from the Candidate by the expiration date of the request, then you will receive your search credit back. If a Candidate responds after the 72 hour deadline then you will have the option to approve and purchase the contact information or just cancel the request. Note that if a Candidate responds within 72 hours then the transaction will automatically be processed and you will be able to view the Candidate's contact information.
Once a request is made to a Candidate then it can't be cancelled until the 72 hour deadline has expired. At that time you will have the option to purchase it or not.
No, Consultants have been instructed to include a rate that does not include expenses. Travel expenses can vary greatly depending on where the Consultant lives and where they will be travelling to. Additionally, not all contracts will include travel so we want to make sure we are providing you valuable rate information.

FAQ's - Job Club and Networking Group Listings
At SkillSniper, we stongly believe in the value of job clubs and networking groups. Therefore, we make listings available to job seekers so they can find a club or group that fits their needs. In addition, we don't charge job clubs or networking groups to create a listing and advertise their club or group. This is another free service provided by SkillSniper to enhance the job search experience for everyone involved.
All new job clubs or networking groups have to be approved before they will show up online. We only want to provide the most relevant information to job seekers looking for networking opportunities. In addition, all listings are validated every six months to make sure they are up-to-date. Our goal is to remove the listings of job clubs and networking groups that no longer exist.
Adding a free job club or networking group listing is simple. Click the "Click to Add Your Free Listing" button and fill out the form. You must fill out the contact information, but you will choose which fields you wish to have displayed in your listing.
Anyone can add or update a job club or networking group listing. However, all new additions or updates will all need to be approved by the facilitator and the SnillSniper job club/networking group administrator. If there is more than one facilitator listed then each will receive an email when there is an update made. Only one of them has to approve the update.
To keep listings fresh for job seekers and avoid old job clubs and networking groups from being displayed, an automated email will be sent to the facilitator every six months asking them to validate the content of the listing. It will only take a few seconds to do this and is the only thing we require you do do in order to advertise your club or group for free on our site.
